Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have jointly announced they will partner on a rebooted “TERMINATOR” movie, to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26, 2015.

The first in a stand-alone trilogy, “TERMINATOR” will be produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna and David Ellison of Skydance. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake of Skydance will serve as executive producers. Laeta Kalorgridis (“Avatar,” “Shutter Island”) and Patrick Lussier (“Drive Angry”) are attached to write the screenplay.

Launched in 1984 with star Arnold Schwarzenegger as the title character, “TERMINATOR” spanned 3 subsequent films, which have earned over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

David Ellison most recently executive produced, along with his partners at Paramount, “World War Z,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”. A 5th installment of in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise is in active development, along with a 3rd film in the “G.I. Joe” franchise, among other films.

Megan Ellison most recently produced the Academy Award®-nominated “Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Master” and executive produced “Spring Breakers” via her Annapurna Pictures banner and has David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” Spike Jonze’s “Her,” and Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher” set for release later this year.

Brad Pitt's 1st Carrier Launch, Fake?

There has been much discussion on the message boards about the now infamous carrier launch scene in Brad Pitt's "World War Z" zombie epic. In the scene an Antov-12 cargo plane launches from an aircraft carrier to send Pitt's character on his worldwide search for a zombie cure. In the video below you can plainly see that the US military has been launching C-130s and several other cargo planes off the deck of aircraft carriers for a very long time. After seeing the movie I can also confirm that there is not one scene that is militarily impossible. The armies of the world have weapons and logistical capabilities far beyond what most average people could fathom.

Improve Your Pistol Accuracy With Dry Fire Drills

Plenty of people want to sharpen their handgun shooting technique. Everyone knows that the greatest way to do this is to shoot countless bullets on the practice range until your accuracy is where it needs to be. This can get very pricey.

However, you can increase your shooting skill by fifty percent without ever shooting a single bullet. Dry fire methods are the easiest way to improve your pistol shooting skill, and the best part is that dry fire exercises are completely free.

Nothing increases your ability to accurately strike your target better than time behind the trigger. However, firing many thousands of rounds per year can cost you many thousands of dollars a year. This write-up describes one of the best ways to upgrade your shooting ability without ever spending money on ammunition.

Before practicing these exercises, you must ensure that your pistol is unloaded and completely empty. There should be absolutely no bullets in the gun and no bullets in the room where you are performing this drill.

As soon as you establish that your pistol is unloaded you should acquire a penny. This penny will save you hundreds on ammunition. Begin the activity by racking the slide back on your gun in order to reset the trigger. The goal of this exercise is to balance the penny on your front sight and pull the trigger back without letting the penny fall off of the front sight.

Perform this exercise ten times, resetting the trigger each time by racking the slide back. When you can pull the trigger ten times in a row without letting the penny fall off the front sight, you will have mastered the exercise.

This drill will expose how well your trigger pull has developed. If you can pull the trigger without letting the penny fall off, then you are most likely doing everything correctly. You are pressing straight back, you are not flinching prior to the trigger break, and you are applying good follow through after you press the trigger.

Of course if you have a handgun with a larger front sight this drill will be very easy and may not be a sensible indication of how well your trigger pull is developing. Whenever you are able to go ten for ten on this activity your trigger pull will be as good as many of the professionals. Now you just have to think of applying this exact same trigger pull anytime you are at the shooting range and anytime you are in an emergency scenario.

UFC Versus Strikeforce, MMA styles compared

In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, two organizations tend to stand out from the rest in terms of competition. Ultimate Fighting Championship and Strikeforce are both huge names in the sport, and both have had a huge influence on the development of MMA.

The UFC was the first major MMA organization, getting its start in 1991. Advertising executive Art Davie was working on an ad campaign that featured the underground sport of MMA. He became intrigued by the sport and became a student of Rorion Gracie, of the famed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu family.

Fast forward a year and Davie comes up with the idea for a huge televised MMA event that would pit fighters with strengths in multiple styles in the world's first Mixed Martial Arts championship. He teamed up with Rorion Gracie and director John Milius to create UFC 1, the first Ultimate Fighting Championship. The event was an enormous success with Royce Gracie winning the first championship.

Strikeforce, on the other hand, began as a kickboxing organization. However, in 2006, Strikeforce broadcasted its first MMA event, the Shamrock vs. Gracie bout. While it was the organization's debut MMA event, for several years it held the record as the MMA event with the highest attendance. Strikeforce also is notable for pairing up with NBC in 2008 to present the weekly Strikeforce on NBC series, which continued to improve the sport's visibility and popularity.

In 2011, the company which owns UFC bought Strikeforce, and many worried that Strikeforce would simply be merged into the UFC. Its new owners, Zuffa, LLC., promised that the two would remain separate although they did lay off most of Strikeforce's employees and make a few other changes, as well.

Several key Strikeforce fighters also became part of the UFC after the purchase by Zuffa. This has left vacancies in several weight classes, including the women's featherweight division and the men's' welterweight and heavyweight divisions. Strikeforce does have a lucrative television contract with Showtime, which expires in 2014, so for at least the next few years, Strikeforce will continue to be separate from UFC.

Both UFC and Strikeforce follow the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, although there are a few differences. A Strikeforce bout takes place in a hexagonal cage where UFC bouts occur in an octagonal cage. Strikeforce also forbids fighters from taking an elbow to the head of an opponent who was on the ground; however, that rule was changed when Strikeforce was purchased by Zuffa.

Mixed martial arts looks to have a bright future, an interest in the sport continues to gain momentum. Fighters continue to improve their skills, and MMA athletes are increasingly focused on reaching expert levels in multiple fighting styles. Changes in Strikeforce and UFC will, of course, have far reaching effects on the sport worldwide, but most analysts agree that this sport will continue to change and the competition will become even stronger in the coming years.
