Archery has been around since the late paleolithic era. It has since develop from a tool to hunt and protect oneself in the wild, but now is a sport being enjoyed by many people across all ages. However the bow and arrow are still a practical tool used in the wild by many indigenous tribes, and will continue to be used because it is a sport and skill that was meant to last for life.

A long term commitment that does not happen only once a week or a month. But can last until old age, and archery is one of those kinds of sports. Archery is good for small children, teenagers, and older adults because of its many healths benefits. It keeps you in shape and provides you with the best mental activity. Not only is it a hobby but also a competitive sport people participate in each year. That is why if you want to try this sport you need to learn some Archery Tips.

And types of bows recorded in history, and the modern archery. During the early Mesolithic or late paleolithic era around ten to nine thousand BC. The first signs of the bow being used was found in the north Hamburg in Ahrensburg Valley, Stellmoor.

Pine was used to make out the arrow that was fifteen to twenty centimeters long with a flint tip. Though there are other kinds of shafts that were found, but research ended that spear throwers used it and not archers. Becoming an archer you need to equip yourself not just with a bow and arrow.

But each of these have undergone many developments to aid the user in whatever activity. Two popular type are the horse and long bow. The long bow is the basic type and the curve is a shorter version of the long type, so so users could shoot while riding a horse at the same time. The horse bow or composite recurve short bow can vary in length, but generally around a hundred ten or hundred forty centimeters.

Bows have different types and depending which country it originated from will dictate its shape and design. But in essence the bow is simply an elastic piece of stick with strings latched at opposite ends. Apart from there are two ways that categorize a bow one that is released by the hand and the other uses an equipment. However there are two popular and commonly used bows such as the longbow or horsebow.

The most primitive type is the longbow, and often associated with the stick bow. Many English and Welsh men have mastered the production and use of the long bow thus commonly called as the English Longbow. It uses the yew wood because it resists stretching, and another is the heartwood because it can deal with compression.

Because it is designed as a long stick elastic enough for the strings attached to each end to bend it. But the short version had problems with bending because it would snap apart when bent somewhat. So most creators found a way to improve bending by treating it with sinew. But this made it slower, so to cure that bowyers used tiny horn plates from the horns of horned animals.

But today there are many different variations of the end. Now you can use materials such as fiberglass, bamboo, wood, aluminum alloy, composite materials, and carbon fiber as shafts for your arrow. But depending on which material you use it can greatly affect its efficiency.
