Jake Bible's "Dead Mech" podcast ceases production

Fans of the the Apex Trilogy by Jake Bible got some bad news in their podcast feeds this week. The very popular podcast version of Jake's novels about Mechanized warriors battling the undead and a cabal of neuro-mancers for control of the world has came to an unceremonious end. Due to personal and professional reasons Jake has decided to end his self-funded recording and production of the podcast. Based on an interview on the Dead Robots Podcast Jake laid out the scenario. Nobody was listening, buying his books or answering his calls to action.
Buy Jake's Apex Trilogy:

I was always surprised that he put the entire novelizations on the internet for all to read. Just to be fair I do have copies of the first two books in the series as well as another book "Stark". Jake is a good writer with a flair for the unbelievable. Jake put alot of his heart and soul into the podcast. It shows in the production value. I was enjoying his weekly serialization of "Metal and Ash" and will immediately purchase it on Amazon. For a sample of the "Metal and Ash" reading check out the last episode included here as an enclosure.
If you are a fan of Jake and his Dead Mech "Spinner" drop in on his blog and beg him to take donations to finish the novel.  Jake's announcement ending the podcast is below.

With A Heavy Heart I leave Podcasting…: So I’m sitting here and I’m struggling. No big deal really since struggle is my middle name. Actually my middle name is… oh, who cares. You see, the problem, the reason I’m struggling is because I am a person that has always ripped his life apart and rebuilt it from the burning ashes of my [...]

Subara recalls 'zombie cars'

(WHAS11) -- Japanese car-maker Subaru is recalling nearly 50,000 vehicles that are being called "zombie cars" because they can start themselves without human intervention. The recall affects the Legacy, Outback and Impreza models from 2010 through 2013. The recall also includes the 2013 Crosstrek. Subaru says the problem seems to be with the remote engine starter. If the key chain fob is dropped it could malfunction and start the engine. The car could keep running until it runs out of gas or the key fob battery dies.

Working With Anxiety

By Weston Bulle

Anxiety is a frequent problem in the world today. In fact, anxiety and panic disorders impact more than 40 million men and women in the United States alone. Although stress and anxiety is a common issue and it could be cured and managed, a lot of victims don't look for help. In order to avoid potential problems or perhaps even a hospital stay because of panic and anxiety, it is important to learn ways to handle it, but even more importantly is learning how to cure it.
Clinical Treatment methods of Anxiety
If you consult your doctor for assistance with your anxiety and panic, then he or she will likely recommend one of two varying methods for coping with anxiety. The first will be prescriptions (anti-depressants) and the second will be cognitive-behavioural counseling.
Both drugs and cognitive-behavioural counseling provide an answer to assist you deal with the symptoms of panic and anxiety, but they don't help you cure your anxiety and panic. As an example, if you cease taking your anti-depressants or anti-anxiety pills, soon after you are very likely to experience withdrawal symptoms or trigger your stress and anxiety to return. On top of that, drugs have side effects including mood changes, lack of ability to focus, and fatigue; you probably do not want to add additional adverse issues to your everyday life.
A few Natural Strategies For Tackling Anxiety and panic
Besides medications and therapy, there are many methods to tackle your anxiety, and they do not have detrimental side effects. Following are 3 ways you can absolutely start taking care of stress and anxiety today.
1. Change Your Diet
Lots of people don't link eating habits and mental problems together, but the fact is that diet affects every aspect of your life. Unhappiness, worry, and panic and anxiety have been shown to become affected by numerous food items that we consume regularly.
As an example, meals that have a rich glucose or elevated carb level can increase glucose levels, which can affect hormones in the human body and cause anxiety and panic. Despite the fact that snacks and chocolate bars might just be the very first thing you reach for when you are tensed up, they should be steered clear of if your anxiety and panic becomes worse soon after eating them.
Other foods to be avoided are stimulants (chemicals that cause your neurology to become excited), specifically caffeine, nicotine, chocolate bars, and alcohol.
2. Exercise
Getting up and working out may well be the last activity you want to do whenever you are really not feeling right; however, it is among the most reliable ways to reduce anxiety instantly. Research have illustrated that people who work out have a 25 percent reduced chance of suffering from stress and anxiety disorders. Activity releases endorphins (bodily hormones that help lift your mood), in addition it helps you to soothe built up tenseness that could intensify anxiety and panic.
It is important to keep in mind that exercise will never need to be tough workouts which make you sweat; the meaning of exercise is a movement that is good for your body in some way. So quick walks may be all you need to help lower your anxiety and panic.
3. Reprogram How You React To The World Close to You
The 1st two methods were for taking care of stress and anxiety; however, if you really want to cure your anxiety, you have to get to the source of it. The way you view and react to the world around you is among the major motivators for panic and anxiety, and altering those views and feelings can help shut off the continuous anxiety.
For instance, fear causes us to feel stress and anxiety, and sometimes we can start to let fear be the leading emotion we feel when certain circumstances and encounters arise. For instance, a person whom is afraid of driving a vehicle may steer clear of driving as long as possible and become extremely strained when they are forced to drive. Each time the person is forced to drive that stress and fear can come to be stronger. Eventually, the individual is so scared of driving that stress and anxiety kicks in just at the mention of driving.

Revolution, The Children's Crusade, Review

"Dick-ish-ness is an Artform"

"Revolution" is one of my guilty pleasures. The show is a lite version of the world 15 years after a worldwide blackout causes society to collapse. While the show stretches credibility most of the time with the 'Quest of the 12 Pendants', Charlie's magic composite crossbow and Miles' sword fighting abilities I think it is worth a spot in my DVR. The crew at AfterBuzz does a great job breaking it down and reminding us that "Revolution"is just a TV show for entertainment.

Should we start a Concussion Ticker for Charlie?

1st World War Z Official Trailer looks, ok....

World War Z Official Trailer (2:27) | Horror School
If I ever win the lottery for a Billion dollars there are three things on my Bucket List. First, buy the Dallas Cowboys from Jerry Jones. Two, build the University of Louisville an on campus Football and Basketball complex. Three, make a grand scale Cecil B Demille style zombie apocalypse movie that does not have sprinting, flying, ninja zombies. The entire horror genre fan base is terrified that Max Brooks' definitive book on the aftermath of a zombie uprising will be turned into 28 Days Later starring Brad Pitt.
Ninja Zombies climb walls under automatic weapons fire.

It looks like the horror fan's worst nightmare's are coming true under the CGI brush of the biggest hack in Hollywood...........

What do you think? Can Brad "Achilles" Pitt and his secret reshoots save the movie?

World War Z's first footage.....

Brad Pitt has finally gotten the troubled zombie epic moving again. This Thursday on E he will be introducing the first trailer. Based on the few seconds we see it looks like the zombies are supernaturally fast and fluid like the Flood from the Halo series. There does not look like there is much hope for the long awaited film adaptation of Max Brooks' masterpiece of a world on the brink of collapse under the weight of SLOW AND SHAMBLING Romero style walkers.
What do you think about this sneak-peek?
Fast Zombies or Slow Zombies?
Does the movie have a John Carter's chance of success?
